Chinese chapter was finished and vietnamese visa was already prepared in my passport. The only logical next step was Hanoi.

Traffic here is something special. The most common transport are motorbikes. Until recently there was almost no cars at all. Traffic rules are non-existent. It seems most of the drivers don't understand their meaning. Every now and then you can see some bike riding on the wrong side of the road. Traffic lights are just a recomendation like: green and yellow = drive, red = drive with caution :)

They have older, narrower railroad standard. Even more interesting is how tightly this railway flows between the buildings. Streets are narrow too...

Like a couple of cities I visited on this trip before, Hanoi is also quite green. It's not a problem to find some interesting park. There is a lot of smaller or bigger lakes. In one of them you can find remainings of american bomber B-52 that was shot down during the war.

As electrotechnician I'm always fascinated what a mess they're able to make with telephone cables. Every now and then some bus cut them...

Life in Vietnam is happening under the open sky. For a new haircut you'll have to sit just in the middle of the street. The food is also the most pristine and cheapest on the streets...
