Huh, what to writte about Moscow? Big city, too big. That way main landmark becomes traffic jams. And this means all the time. In the morning, during day, even at night. I was talking with a girl, whose friend lives in the suburbs. To get to her job in the centre it takes her two hours.

Because the traffic is huge, main streets are wide. And this makes walking around more challenging. You can not find pedestrian crossings on such streets. There are subwalks, but those are not on every step. Once you know exactly where you have to go to get to the destination is easier. But when you first time find yourself in the middle of unknown city, it takes some effort. Walking is also obstructed by cars parked everywhere on sidewalks. There are fees for that, but cars are just too many, and police officers not enough to be able to implement appropriate control.

Talking about transport, really beautiful are metro stations. I won't spend too many words, just check next photos:

There is an interesting story about giant statue of tsar Peter the first. He founded St. Petersburg and move capital there, so his statue really doesn't have much to do in Moscow. Artist made it as a gift for St. Petersburg at anniversary of founding the city. But residents didn't accept it. They said is too big and they have nowhere to put it. In Moscow they said: OK, we can take it :)

Holywood made a movie The Hunt for Red October. In Russia no one heard about it. Anyway, Red October actually exists, but it's not a submarine but a chocolate factory :)

I can not avoid but mention how soviet Moscow still looks like. When I was in St. Petersburg last year I didn't get such strong feeling. Here you can find something that throws you back in time on every corner.

Like library, which still carries a name: National library of USSR, and not Russia:

Then a photo of some general on the wall in the middle of promenade:

Statues and memorial are no need to mention:

In Moscow I also found out how they call bikers: "odnorazovyi". We could translate it as "onetimer", because they sit on a motorcycle only once, then someone hits them :)

At the time of my visit, there is an ice hockey world championship in Russia. Some sort of unofficial tournament mascot is Cheburashka, a character from old soviet cartons.

One more interesting thing. When you walk the parks you see chairs standing by the flowers. First I thought they were left there by the people who maintain the garden. But then I go further and see random peole just sitting there, talking, sun bathing...

Deja Voo again. And not only once, similar buildings are quite common in Moscow. Why Deja Vu? Read the articles about Warsaw and Riga.

Of course I have to mention Red Square,

Bolshoi theatre,

And St. Basil Cathedral.
